Dangchu Nunnery Dinning and Kitchen Construction Project

We have 29 nuns with a Lopenma, an English teacher and a lopen uzinma (Nun Principal) at Dangchu Pema Shedrup Dhargay Khandroling Nunnery Shedra. However, the nunnery does not have a proper dinning and kitchen which is very vital requirement for the nuns as the number of nuns are increasing over the year. The kitchen and dining for nuns is currently done in an old room which is not so healthy, cramped and does not have proper sanitation and washing facilities.

The Dorji Lingpa Foundation through the sponsors, board and management approved the budget for the construction of Dinning and Kitchen for the nunnery. The required construction approval was also received from the Department of Culture routed through Dangchu Geog and Wangdu Phodrang Dzongkhag. The dining and kitchen will also have space for library for nun to improve overall learning experience of the nun.
The proper dining and kitchen for Nuns will help the Nunnery adopt cleanness and proper sanitation and proper eating space which is vital for their good health and day to day living
