Tshokoling Dorling Lhakhang Renovation Project
In 15th century, the heart re-incarnate of Trulku Chogden Gonpo-Dongak Jungney who is the heart son of Terchen Dorje Lingpa built the existing Sherling Dorling Monastery temple as a replacement of the previously ruined temple.
The more than 700 years old Dorling monastery is planned to be renovated while still protecting the old structure and designs. The required renovation approval was received from the Department of Culture, Ministry of Home Affair as per the renovation request processed by foundation through Rubesa Geog and Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag. The sponsors, board and management provided the approval and support on the funding of the renovation works which is estimated at 9.00 million Ngultrum (USD 0.111 Million).
The mobilization of timbers works is under progress and once the timbers are mobilized and dried, the actual renovation of the Lhakhang will start which is planned from March 2024.
